FLAG is an organisation of concerned members of the community who are worried about the detrimental effects that a proposed development of 400-600 residential properties to be built on the site of the Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital will have on the villages and communities surrounding the Grange Hospital site and further afield.

FLAG publicly elected Committee members are:

  • Rob Crowshaw - Chairperson
  • Don Corbett - Deputy Chair
  • Helen Jordan - Treasurer

FLAG is organised into a number of Working Groups, each tasked with looking into a specific aspect of the development and responsible for challenging the development in the interest of the public and consulting with professional bodies for help and advice in investigating the impact of the proposed development in the areas of:

  • The Highways, Transport and Traffic
  • The Environment and Landscape
  • Drainage
  • The Overall Design and Layout
  • The Hospital, Patients and Hydropool
  • The Local Plan
  • Covenants and Ownership of Land

FLAG has written letters of complaint, distributed leaflets and newsletters, put up signs and compiled standard letters of objection for the public to send to County Hall.

FLAG has held a number of Public Meetings throughout local communities to keep concerned local residents fully informed [Full transcripts available on this website].

FLAG has written to, held meetings with and made presentations to MPs, AMs, Ward and Community Councillors, TCBC Planners and the Applicants.

FLAG vice-chairs and actively participates in Community Liaison Group Meetings involving FLAG, TCB Ward and Community Councillors, TCBC Planners, The Health Trust & The National Assembly for Wales in which concerns are put forward on Highways and Drainage, the proposed Design, Layout and site Amenities and the effect of the proposed development on the Ecology, Landscape and Trees.

FLAG is a voluntary organisation. Consultations with outside professionals for specialist advice, reports and surveys are, if necessary, paid for out of funds collected from public donations and fund raising activities. Thank you for your continued generous contributions and support.

FLAG is always looking for new members and welcomes comments and feedback from the public.
